About Primary Physics enrichment in Ireland
Physics is not a primary school subject in Ireland. Energy and forces are covered within SESE Science, and physics becomes a distinct subject only at second level. These sessions are enrichment for children who want to know how things work.
Forces, light, sound, magnets and simple circuits are all things a child can investigate directly, which makes this unusually good material for one-to-one enrichment. Sessions are built around trying something, predicting what will happen, and explaining the gap when the prediction is wrong.
There is very little maths at this stage, which is deliberate. The mathematics is what makes second-level physics hard; the ideas themselves are approachable much earlier, and meeting them early makes the later maths feel like a tool rather than an obstacle.

Is Physics a primary school subject in Ireland?+
No. Primary science sits within SESE and is not divided into separate sciences. These sessions are enrichment for children who like finding out how things work, and useful groundwork for Junior Cycle Science.
Is my child too young for this?+
We start from where your child actually is. Sessions are pitched at their reading level and attention span, and the tutor stops as soon as interest does rather than pushing through a syllabus.
Are lessons personalised?+
Every session is live one-to-one with a dedicated tutor, so the pace and the examples are built around your child.
Is there much maths involved?+
Almost none at this stage. We stay with the ideas and the investigations, which is the part children can genuinely grasp at primary age.
What do sessions actually look like?+
A question, a prediction, something tried, and then an explanation of what happened. Often with torches, magnets, mirrors or household objects.
Does it help with primary Science?+
Yes - energy and forces is a SESE Science strand, so it reinforces the curriculum directly.
