About Primary Economics enrichment in Ireland
Economics is a Leaving Certificate subject in Ireland, not a primary one. These sessions are enrichment - the ideas behind economics, taught in language a child can actually use, for children who ask why things cost what they do or why people work.
The core idea is scarcity: you cannot have everything, so every choice gives something else up. Children grasp that immediately from pocket money and screen time, and once they have it, supply, demand, price and trade all become explainable without jargon.
This is also practical financial literacy. A child who understands saving, spending and the difference between wanting and needing is better equipped than one who does not, whatever they study later.

No. Economics is a Leaving Certificate subject. These sessions are enrichment - the ideas behind it, taught in plain language for children who ask how money and work fit together.
Is my child too young for this?+
We start from where your child actually is. Sessions are pitched at their reading level and attention span, and the tutor stops as soon as interest does rather than pushing through a syllabus.
