About Primary Biology enrichment in Ireland
Biology is not a primary school subject in Ireland. Living things are covered within SESE Science, and the split into Biology, Chemistry and Physics does not happen until second level. These sessions are enrichment for children who are drawn to animals, plants and how bodies work.
That framing matters, because it changes what good tutoring looks like. Is Biology a primary school subject in Ireland?+
No. Primary science sits within SESE and is not split into Biology, Chemistry and Physics - that happens later. These sessions are enrichment for children who are curious about living things, and preparation for the science they will meet at second level.
Is my child too young for this?+
We start from where your child actually is. Sessions are pitched at their reading level and attention span, and the tutor stops as soon as interest does rather than pushing through a syllabus.

Will this put my child ahead at secondary school?+

Usually from around Second or Third Class, once a child can sustain a line of reasoning. Younger children are better served by general primary Science.
